Kansas City Jazz & Blues: Past, Present & Future is a project of Heartland Films Inc., a non-profit corporation. Our goal is to highlight Kansas City jazz and blues and the artists who have made, are making and will make them uniquely the city’s own.

Your sponsorship dollars will be used only for the world premiere event with all proceeds from the event donated to:

• UMKC jazz programs through the Ed Fenner Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship honors Raymond Edward Fenner, a Kansas City jazz advocate and ambassador, who died in 2008. The fund helps support jazz programs at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music

• Mutual Musicians Foundation

A location for Friday and Saturday night jam sessions since 1930, the Foundation is also a members’ rehearsal space, classroom and living museum. Supported by the Historic Jazz Foundation Inc., the MMF helps preserve and grow Kansas City’s jazz and blues reputation.

• Kansas City Youth Jazz

Since 2001, the Kansas City Youth Jazz program has grown to four bands and a jazz choir with more than 100 students from more than 50 greater Kansas City-area schools. The program offers multicultural jazz education, improves school attendance and academic performance and encourages young leaders.
